The cousins were found with gunshot wounds to the head, in what police have described as an \u201cexecution-style\u201d killing. A third woman survived the attack and remains in hospital under police protection.<\/p>\n

Following swift police work, a suspect identified as Tebogo Mnisi (38) \u2014 reportedly a tavern bouncer from the area \u2014 was arrested on Monday at a Pretoria petrol station after a public tip-off.<\/p>\n
Mnisi appeared briefly before the Mamelodi Magistrate\u2019s Court this week, facing two counts of premeditated murder, one count of attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He abandoned his bail application and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance, scheduled for 19 January 2026.<\/p>\n
The double murder has sparked national outrage and renewed calls for stronger action against gender-based violence (GBV). Advocacy groups and residents gathered outside court demanding justice for the victims, describing the killings as \u201csenseless and cowardly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Family members say Tshiamo, a trainee teacher, and Baleseng, who was studying beauty therapy, were \u201cambitious, loving, and full of potential.\u201d Their deaths have been described as a devastating loss for both their family and community.<\/p>\n

Police have assured the public that investigations are continuing, with additional forensic evidence being processed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident in the work of our investigators. The community\u2019s assistance was crucial in ensuring this quick arrest,\u201d said Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo.<\/p>\n
