The Automobile Association of South Africa has welcomed government’s decision to temporarily reduce the fuel levy.

The association says the move will bring much-needed relief to motorists and help ease the rising cost of living. Lower fuel prices are also expected to benefit businesses, especially those in transport and logistics.

However, the AA warns that the reduction is only a short-term solution and is calling for a full review of South Africa’s fuel pricing structure to ensure long-term sustainability.

Motorists are meanwhile encouraged to continue using fuel efficiently.
