ABOUT MAFOSI TRY BY FORCE

Tiveka Foster Chauke AKA Mafosi try by force grew up in the dusty streets of Njhaka Njhaka Xavunyami, being the fifth-born child of the late N’wa-Mafemani and Daniel Chauke. It is reported that he developed a passion for radio at the age of four, which led his late father to nickname him after the well-known radio presenter M’fa ka Sgogwani. He’s co-hosting Timitsi ta Xitsonga with the Quintonizer every Saturday 13:00 – 15:00

He began his early education at Njhaka Njhaka Primary School in the late 1980s and later attended Marholeni High School. His first attempt at passing his matriculation exams was allegedly cut short due to a serious life-threatening illness that struck him in the middle of the exams. He reportedly repeated Grade 12 three times, facing similar challenges during the exams.

Try by force relocated to Johannesburg in 1999 in search of better opportunities. He worked for various security companies, including Stallion Security, Chubb-BBR Security, and Leaf Security, before joining Propstars, a media company that collaborated with prominent production houses such as The Bomb, Dzuguda Production, AFDA Film School, Paw Paw Film, and Word of Mouth, among others. These companies were reportedly involved in producing TV soapies such as Muvhango, Rhythm City, Seven Deelaan, Scandal, and Generations: The Legacy, among others

Mafosi was involved in setting up props for numerous music videos and TV soapies, including those of well-known artists like P Square from Nigeria, Toya Delay on love in the air music video and Die Antwoord. He also reportedly worked as a props organizer for various South African artists and TV adverts for MTN,VodaCom and Magazines shoot like Bona, YOU, Play Boy and more

He was appointed as a studio manager at Propstars in 2010, leveraging his hard work and experience. Mafosi also owns a recording studio 95, where he has produced music for numerous Gospel and Xitsonga traditional artists such as Sasekisa, Sakamela, Nyawurisa, Tsokombela, Samson Mthombeni,BBC,Mhani madya kubomba,Mbokota pure holly boys, Sho Madjozi, Manana Twala, Israel Mabasa, Mhlengwe Sannyboy Chauke, Nwa Sono,Manana Jeria Hlungwani…and others

Mafosi is blessedwith playing different kind of instrumets such as piano, drums, guitar and a little bit of some musical instruments.

He also worked with artist as a drumist or keyboardist during live or studio sessions and Xitsonga Music awards like Dr Thomas Chauke,Abel Chauke, Timburi sisters, Mutendas, Mr Post, Benny Mayengani, Dr. Joe Shirimani, Dr Elias Baloyi, Manana Agness Baloyi Antonio Marcos, Vusi Mahlasela,Esta M and many more.

Mafosi had a 5 minutes feature on the afternoon drive show during Phanuel Magayisa, Quinton Baloyi, and Russel Kwinika’s time as comedians.

He started his radio career in 2014 and worked for two radio stations before joining the SABC in 2022, where he currently works as a presenter/producer. In his free time, he enjoys editing videos and pictures and has a passion for photography, often carrying a camera with him.
