Ike Ngobeni

Born in a dusty streets of a village called Chavani  outside Elim.  Discovered his love for Radio at the age 5 when he could commentate soccer matches  of teams on the national league then. Though he had not seen a radio studio by then until his 1st year in varsity. Auditioned  on a campus radio and like they say " the rest is history " The year 2000 when Mlfm got a new  station manager  Mrs Mapule Mbhalati  he wrote a proposal to her hoping changes could be made to the station programming,  luckily she had a plan to bring fresh voices on her team. Later that year he was part of the 5 presenters employed. In 2003 he left the station to join a retail radio station in Gauteng.  The following year he got a 2nd gig on a corporate radio doing a breakfast show, coincidentally he was then bringing train traffic updates from his show to the Limpopo combo. In 2007 he was head hunted to be part of the team to set up the very 1st commercial black owned station in Limpopo.  2 years later he found himself back at Mlfm to do an afternoon drive show for 3 years. Some of the experience he acquired in his career as a broadcaster includes being a voice over artist,  Xitsonga translator which now he translate & voice most of the adverts aired on Mlfm.

You can equate him to a Jack of all trade but masters all, he also landed a role on Muvhango on Sabc 2 as the Limpopo Premier.  TV has always been something he wanted to do but it took him 19 years to get a role. His acting skills are not only witnessed on TV but also on radio dramas where now he does it in a variety of languages including Tshivenda.  Above all this, he still makes time for his radio show which is currently airing weekdays 3-6PM. He's one of the lucky few broadcasters who have worked on retail,  corporate,  commercial and public broadcasting stations combined.

Catch him  live between 3 - 6 PM weekdays on Khoma Ndlela on Munghana lonene fm
