Risimatil Kwinika also known by his fans as “Nwana Nwa Gee”

Russel Kwinika also known by his fans as “Nwana Nwa Gee” was born on the 20 December 1979 in a deep rural village of Lombard, Mtititi in Malamulele. He started schooling in 1986 at Tinyiko Primary School, he later went to Mtititi High School to further his secondary education.

He did his tertiary education at Professional Technical College where he studied a three year diploma in Human Resources Management; this is where his love for radio started. He joined Univen Community Radio as Freelance Journalist in June 2001, he worked there as Xitsonga News Presenter up until appointed News Editor in March 2004. During his stay at Univen Com Radio, Russel obtained certificates in Radio Production, Newsroom Leadership from ABC Ulwazi.

Russel joined Munghana Lonene FM in August 2004, a year when he was voted second best Presenter after Conny Mashimbye just four months after joining the station. In 2011 he was appointed the Ambassador for MLFM Xitsonga Music Awards by the then Marketing Manager, Mr Churchill. In 2013 he was nominated and voted the Best Presenter Midnight Shows Mon - Fri during MLFM staff Awards.

N’wana N’wa Gee also served as President of Alumni: Tinyungubyiseni Cultural Society in University of Limpopo from 2008 until 2011
