I love radio and listen to it more than I watch TV
I love radio and listen to it more than I watch TV. I believe there is no end to learning and in listening to other radio presenters I continue to grow everyday. I believe great shows are not just an accident but it takes dedication and hard work to excel. I believe in Presenting every show as though it were my last.
I also love soccer and it is the only recreational activity that has the ability to make me shed a tear and even take the pain to bed with me when I feel my team has not performed as best as they could.
I value and respect my listeners and never take their support for granted. My wish for 2015/16 is to help my station reach its set audience and financial targets. I want to be remembered as one of the great achievers in the history of the Station.
Started as a presenter in 1995 at a time when there was no specific slot allocation for Presenters.
This made me grow and mature quickly in broadcasting because each day brought new challenges.
I have presented almost every programme in the station but the highlight of my career was when I had the privilege of presenting the breakfast show, afternoon drive show and the music charts programme.
It was during these years that I was repeatedly voted for by the station's listeners as the best Presenter in the Station. To this day, the award that stood out for me was being voted as one of the best voice of choice Presenters, an accolade for which I was chosen together with other 2 colleagues from SABC radio Stations nationwide.
I left the airwaves in 2007 and returned in 2012 because I felt my mission was not yet complete. Since my return in 2012, I have co-hosted the breakfast show Phaphama till 2015 March when I was moved to co-host the afternoon show 326 Thwii with Quinton “The Quintinizer” Baloyi.
I currently co-host the Breakfast show with a highly talented team; Presenter DJ Brian and Xolani Ndlovu as our Producer. There is nothing I would rather wake up to than being in the studio with this super team and my listeners.
I strive to bring positivity in my listeners’ day and the morning show provides such a platform. Being the positive voice when the day of activities starts in the morning at 5am until 9am is a privilege that I treasure
I feel fulfilled when I end the show at 9 with the belief that I have placed South Africa on a positive footing and they can approach the day with positivity knowing that life is not all gloom and hopeless.
