Born at a village called Nkovani (Xikundu) and started schooling at Tivoneleni Primary when he was 5 years old. After finishing his primary term he went to the village next to Nkovani (Nghezimani) to continue with his secondary education at Nghezimani High School and matriculated in 2001.

For his tertiary education went to the University of Venda in 2005 to enroll for a Media Degree. He was awarded the degree in 2007. In the process of doing his Bachelors degree at the University of Venda he joined the community radio station within the University, Univen FM (formerly a campus radio) where he was producing and presenting sports from 2006 to 2008. August 2008 he joined Munghana Lonene FM as a Sports Presenter till to date. In 2010 he registered for Honours Degree at the University of Limpopo formerly known as University of the North and he was awarded with the certificate in 2011. 

In 2013 he won the best Sports Bulletin Presenter of the Year for Munghana Lonene FM. 2016 his show (Ta Mintlangu) won the FAME Award for the Best Sports Show of the Year. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 his show was nominated as a Sports Show of the Year (PBS) at the Liberty Radio Awards. His show was also nominated as the Best Sports Show in 2018 at the SAB Radio Awards.

In October 2019, RasNyiko walked away with the Journalist of the Year Award at the annual Limpopo Sports Awards organised by the Department of Sports Arts and Culture

RasNyiko is a sportsman, he spends most of his time watching sports on television and playing social football. Rastaman who believes in Rastafari way of life, an outgoing person, friendly, adventurous and very ambitious. A person who find African books appealing especially novels written by African writers as most of these books are about African history and they play a huge role in reminding one of where one comes from as an African.
